Deck is mounted over the face of the siding. This will lead to eventual degradation of the siding and the posibility of rot behind the deck ledger over time.
These corners were not sealed together at original assembly which is a workmanship issue.
This is the visible light between the shrunken joints of the foam wall sheathing. Air and moisture will intrude at this joint.
